Oblong-4°. Original publisher's cardboard map with typographic and ornamental title lithography and 3 hasps, spine renewed.
Gorgeous collection with multiline meticulously executed calligraphic specimen of letters, words, phrases as well as columns of numbers, lithographed on high quality mould paper, water marked „Leconte“, i.e. probably deriving from the French paper mills of Glay or Meslières run by the Leconte brothers.
2 plates with old stamps of Saint Sava National College, Bucharest, Romania.
Spine skilfully renewed, boards with minor wear and little foxing, some plates slightly finger-stained, cut with minimal loss of pagination.
Bibliographie de la France, 41eme année, no. 1er (1832), 2860, mentions only 7 plates. Our copy has 19 plates, like the one in BnF.
Particularly rare in libraries, WorldCat/OCLC, KVK and viaLibri Librairies show only 1 copy worldwide (BnF). Jahrbuch der Bücherpreise (1906-38), Jahrbuch der Auktionspreise (1950ff.), Auktionspreise online (ca. 1988ff.) and Drouot (2004-) show not a single appearance at auction.
