AL-QURʾĀN (Quran, القرآن‎‎ ). Juzʼ (part, جزء‎‎). Sūrat Al-Anbiyāʼ (no. 21, The Prophets, سورة الأنبياء) and Sūrat Al-Ḥajj (no. 22, The Pilgrimage, سورة الحج). S.l. S.a. [probably 1st half of 19th century]. 18:12,5 cm. [1 (front paper) leaf, 20 not numbered pages, 1 (end paper) leaf]. Half leather binding from around 1800 with narrow red leather spine, cardboard cover coated with marbled paper and handwritten title on a white, tipped-on label.

Contents, Illustration: Illuminated manuscript containing chapter nos. 21 and 22 of the Quran. The verses are written with black and red ink on a smooth, fine paper, are structured with initials in gilt and blue, as well as framed with gilt, black and red lines. Additionally pages 1 and 13 contain one miniature each drawn in gilt, blue, red and green, showing a floral design. Some pages have marginals in black and red. Front paper with owner's stamp in Arabic.

Condition: Cover slightly worn, otherwise very well preserved and beautifully calligraphed manuscript indeed.
