First printing in original wrappers of Einstein’s famous November 4th paper containing his new, and as it would turn out, most significantly enhanced version of the »General Theory of Relativity«; present a well preserved, uncut copy.
Edition: In a lecture based on this paper, Einstein presented „to the plenary session of the Prussian Academy a new version of general relativity (…) There was still one flaw, a much smaller one“ [than in the papers before, DJ] (…) On November 25th Einstein would have eliminated this flaw and „presented (…) a paper in which »finally the general theory of relativity is closed as a logical structure« (…) The work is done.“ (Pais).
Enclosed in present set is also the first printing of Einstein’s November 11th paper on this subject, in which he delivered an addendum to the aforesaid.
Condition: Margins of wrappers in parts minimally torn and dusty, otherwise very well preserved copies indeed, uncut obviously not opened at all.
Rarity: According to ABPC, LotSearch and JAP only two copies in original wrappers of this edition were at auction since the 1970s (2005, 1977).
