Original cloth on wooden boards in japanese binding fixed with ornamental metal screws as well as illustrated end papers; front cover with embroidery, gilt title illustration and printing.
Elaborate album „to promote and propagate Buddhism & to commemorate the auspicious occasion or the twentyfith buddhist century“ (introduction).
Contents, Illustration: Each of the pages printed on high gloss quality paper is designed differently, covered with text in English, French and Siamese (in Thai and Latin script), decorated with different multicolour illustrations covering photos and ornaments, and protected by a patterned rice paper. The large formatted photos show the »Grand Palace« in Bangkog, the »Great Stupa« at Nakon Patom, the »Thatu Nakon Sritammaraj« at Nakon Sritammaraj, the »Thatu Chaiya« at Surat, the »Thatu Haripoonchai« at Lampoon, »Phra Buddhajinaraj« at Pitsanuloke, the »Thatu Sutep« on Mount Sutep, »The Buddha’s Footprint« at Saraburi and some details of those buildings and sites.
Condition: Top and bottom of spine worn, one corner of bottom with minimal fault, first rice paper with some minimal faults and very slightly torn along the edges, otherwise very fine copy indeed of this hard to find celebrative publication.
