First edition of this most comprehensive modern atlas of Colombia, present a prominently inscribed copy of the scare preferential edition bound in ruby red padded leatherette.

Contents, Illustration, Edition: The atlas contains hundreds of colour illustrations, many of the repros of photographies, maps, diagrams and plans, as well as detailed descriptions of cosmography, astronomy, historical cartography, the geography concerning fauna, flora and ethnic groups, and detailed maps of the various Colombian provinces, among others.

A trade edition of this most important Colombian cartographic endeavour until today was bound in cloth or cardboard and sold with a pictorial dust jacket. Further editions appeared in 1969, 1977, 1992, 2002 and 2005, each of them revised and enlarged.

Provenance: Present copy is inscribed as a gift for the then President of the Republic of Austria, Franz Jonas (1965-74) by the Colombian head of state and government Carlos Lleras Restrepo (1966-70): "Para S. E. il señor Presidente de Austria, con la admiracion y la cordial amisdad del pueblo colombiano.Carlos Lleras Restrepo. Noviembre de 1967."

Condition: Title page with stamp and numbering of the Vienna University for World Trade »Hochschule für Welthandel«, disbanded in 1975. Rear cover and spine with skilfully restored faults, otherwise well preserved.
